The Punjab government has introduced an online option to make it easier for people to get a learner’s driving license.
This move is meant to simplify the process and accommodate the large number of individuals applying for licenses.
Interim Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated the online service on Sunday. In his statement on X, Naqvi mentioned that citizens can submit their applications through the Punjab Police app online. Additionally, the service is accessible at 737 police stations and all Khidmat Marakiz throughout Punjab.
– Make the payment through ATM, online banking, or mobile banking channels.
Documents Required for Online Application
– Applicant’s photograph.
– Scanned copy or picture of the original CNIC’s front and back.
– A medical certificate signed by a government doctor if the applicant is above 50 years old.
It’s important to highlight that the provincial cabinet had previously sanctioned a significant surge in learner’s driving license fees. The fee has been raised from Rs. 60 to Rs. 1000, marking an increase of 1566%.
However, citizens have the opportunity to obtain their licenses at the current rate until December 31. From January 1, 2024, a revised fee structure will come into effect.
